I've flown for 3 Airlines over 35 years. My final 25 years were at UPS and now retired. Been flying for 62 years, approaching 27,000 hours and hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, Numerous type rating for several Jet Aircraft, licensed Helicopter Pilot, recipient of the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award and been a Flight Instructor for 56 years. Flew Airshows and Aerobatic Competitions many years back in a 2 seat Pitts Special. I am currently credited with 667 Young Eagles in a Robinson R22 Helicopter that I own. I enjoy mentoring and career coaching a few handpicked aspiring pilots, that often accompany me to NationalSTOL events! I claim to be the oldest pilot on the NationalSTOL circuit at 73 years old. My 4-cylinder Cherokee 180 is usually one of the least horsepower engines flying in the Touring Class. My career has included flying many famous people like Evil Knievil, President Jimmy Carter, Marie Osmond, Peter Frampton, some of the Rolling Stones, several governors and senators, and a wealthy individual by the name of Howard Hughes on his final flight where he expired on the last moments of the flight. I started flying at age 12 and achieved most of my Pilot Certificates at the earliest ages possible on my respective birthdays. Became a licensed Jet Captain at 22 years of age! I received the titles of "3rd place Light Touring", "2nd place Light Touring", "3rd place Touring" and "4th Place Light Touring" for 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025 seasons at Gainesville, TX and Sulphur Springs, TX in the National STOL Contests. My Cherokee known as PIPERZILLA - The Beast from the Southeast is 61 years old and was the first 1965 model Piper Cherokee off the assembly line that year.
