Bio

Brandon W. Corn – Hearne, Texas Brandon Corn is a National STOL competitor from Hearne, Texas, known for flying a highly modified Cessna 205 in the Touring class and for his involvement in the development of cutting-edge STOL aircraft. In the 2023 National STOL season, Corn competed in every event and finished on the podium at each competition, earning multiple wins and securing the National STOL Touring Class Championship. Corn’s aviation background is rooted in a lifetime of mechanical experience. He grew up working at Corns Collision Center, a family business established in 1948, where he developed skills building engines, race cars, and high-performance equipment. That hands-on racing and fabrication background translates directly into his aviation projects and competitive flying. For the 2026 season, Corn will be flying the Backcountry “Boss” prototype, an experimental high-performance STOL aircraft owned and being developed by Backcountry Super Cubs. The aircraft represents the next generation of extreme STOL design. Corn is also preparing to build one of the first production Boss Cub kits, documenting the build and flight testing as part of an ongoing aviation series. When he’s not competing or working on aircraft, Corn focuses on family, business, and sharing the backcountry flying lifestyle through aviation content and community events.
